Smith, Peg & Clark

10/26/2005

Clark and I are doing fine. We are slowly getting ready for winter, the porch furniture is put away we have our winter clothes out now and I could even find my gloves yesterday morning after I had cleared about 4" of snow from my car. We had snow here in Star Lake on Sunday morning, enough to cover the ground, and then about 4" yesterday morning, that real heavy, wet stuff so I guess we are now officially into the winter season in northern NY, although they are predicting it to be in the 50's this weekend.

Dad is doing well, his breathing is a little more labored with movement, but he is still able and wanting to be on his own.

Susan is right, Hunting Season is in full swing now and we are both enjoying the time to ourselves. Although it seems like every year at this time something goes wrong at our house right after Clark has left for camp for the weekend. Last Friday I came home from lunch with Dad and was getting ready to mop the kitchen floor, when I noticed I didn't have any hot water and the furnace wouldn't come on. I caught Bob before he went to camp, as I didn't get a reply from Dean Kerr's home just the answering machine, and he came up to take a look. Bob put a jumper wire on it and made sure that it would cycle okay before he left, and I called Dean again to let him know he should come and take a look at it. Sure enough we need a new aquastat and Dean says they run around $200.00, he said because it is a commercial boiler we have extra safety measures on it, so we are running it with Bob's jumper wire until we can afford to purchase the part and put it in. It is just those little things that I mind about hunting season, the rest of it I love until about December 1st then I have had enough alone time.

Congratulations Jean, on your new granddaughter!!

Dode and Jerry should be coming again this Sunday for our biweekly family dinner here. I can't wait to see Jerry he was going to have Don Corp buzz his hair off after they got home the last time they were here. I can't imagine what the change will be like.

Don and Barb, I do hope that you will be able to come for Thanksgiving that would be great.

I want you all to know that you are in my daily thoughts and prayers. I love you all!!

Peg
